Routine Exams
A routine dental exam at Song Dental Wellness is critical for early detection of potential gum disease, tooth decay, and other oral health problems early, when they're easier to treat. During your exam, digital x-ray images of your teeth and jaw bones may be taken when needed. We will also use this opportunity to educate you on the best ways to care for your teeth and gums. We will then work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan to address your oral health concerns. Most adults and children should get a dental exam every six months. Some of you may need more frequent dental exams. We will help you understand if that is the case.
Dental Hygiene
Dental cleaning is a preventative procedure performed on you to help you maintain or achieve optimum oral health. In your dental cleaning procedure, we will use both ultrasonic instruments and hand instruments to remove the dental plaque and tartar that have accumulated on the teeth. We will also polish your teeth to make the surface smoother. There are different types of cleaning including deep cleaning (scaling and root planning). We will recommend the proper cleaning based on your gum condition. You are advised to undergo professional teeth cleaning at least once every six months for preventative maintenance.
Dental Fillings
Although it’s best to prevent a cavity, a cavity can be repaired with dental filling. To do this, we remove the decayed tooth tissue and then fill the space with a filling material. We only use the best tooth-colored (composite resin) materials to give your restored tooth the optimal esthetic and function results. Generally, dental fillings do not last a lifetime and may need to be replaced.
Crown & Bridges
Dental crowns are tooth-shaped “caps” that can be placed over your tooth. Think of it like a snug hat for your tooth. The crown restores the tooth's shape, size, strength and appearance. The dental crown is cemented into place on your tooth and it covers the visible portion of the tooth.
A dental bridge permanently replaces missing teeth with false teeth. The bridge is attached to the teeth on either side of the gap via crowns and the missing teeth are replaced by false teeth (pontic). Bridges are usually made of porcelain or metal, a mixture of the 2, or zirconia.
Root Canal
A root canal is a dental procedure to treat an infected tooth by removing dead or dying nerve tissue and bacteria from inside a tooth. We will remove a small portion of the top part of your tooth to expose the pulp. The infected pulp is removed with special tools. The canals (tiny pathways inside the tooth) are cleaned and irrigated with disinfecting solution. Medicines may be placed into the canal to make sure all the germs are removed and to prevent further infection. Once the tooth is cleaned, canals are filled with a permanent material. The top side of the tooth may be sealed with a soft, temporary material.
Implant
Dental implants are surgically placed into your jawbone. They are a long-term solution to missing teeth and can be very similar to your natural teeth. Plus, unlike fixed bridges or removable dentures, dental implants likely will not affect neighboring healthy teeth or lead to bone loss in the jaw. If properly cared for, dental implants can last a lifetime. We will refer you to specialist who has the specialized education and training in implant surgery to place your dental implant. We then will restore the missing tooth with implant supported crown after your implant fuses with the jawbone in several months.
Denture
Depending on the number of your missing teeth, you can either have partial denture when you still have some natural teeth or full denture when you have no nature teeth. You can also have implant supported denture. For the full denture, especially for the lower jaw, an implant supported denture is care of standard and highly recommend for better retention and function. Dentures take a while to make. We will combine both conventional impression technique with digital design to ensure you can get the denture in a timely manner.
Invisalign
Invisalign treatment is practically an invisible way to straighten your teeth using cutting-edge 3D computer-imaging technology.
Invisalign technology takes the current and final straightened position of your teeth, to map out a treatment plan that gradually aligns your teeth.
Then every few weeks, you will replace your current Invisalign with a new set of aligners until you have the perfect smile of yours!
Cosmetic
Whitening is One of the most conservative and safe cosmetic dentistry treaments. You can have your teeth whitened either in our office or do home whitening treatment.
Dental veneers are custom-made shells that fit over the front surfaces of your teeth. They conceal cracks, chips, stains and other cosmetic imperfections. Veneers are one of the most common cosmetic dentistry treatments. There are several types of veneers available, depending on your specific goals.

Emergency
In general, any dental problem that needs immediate treatment to stop bleeding, alleviate severe pain, or save a tooth is considered an emergency. This also applies to severe infections that can be life-threatening.
It’s important to understand the difference between a standard dental issue that can wait until morning and a real emergency that can threaten your health. Here’s what you should know about recognizing dental emergencies that need immediate attention. To help you determine if you can wait until your next dental appointment or if you need to take a trip to an emergency dentist, ask yourself the following questions:
-
Are you in severe pain? Severe pain and bleeding are signs of an emergency.
-
Have you lost a tooth? Fast treatment can potentially save a tooth.
-
Do you have loose teeth? Adults should never lose teeth. A loose tooth, even without pain, is a serious problem.
-
Do you have an infection? An abscess or serious infection in your mouth can be potentially life-threatening, and treatment should not wait.
-
Are you bleeding from the mouth? This is a potential sign of an emergency.
How to treat dental emergencies depends on the situation and the type of damage. In many cases of severe toothache and chips or cracks, your dentist may need to treat an infection and repair the cracked or chipped tooth, which could involve:
-
Root canal treatment
-
Dental filling
-
Extraction
-
Irrigation and antibiotic treatment
